Akagera game drive, combined with Ihema Lake Boat Ride. We leave Kigali early and drive for an estimated 3.5 hours to reach Akagera National Park. With our local and friendly tour guide, the transport is assured with a 4x4 Toyota Rav4 car with WIFI onboard to keep you connected with your loved ones and the world (***Some spots in the park do not have connectivity***). 
The game-drive is spiced with the stunning one-hour Ihema boat ride.
Spend the entire day through the park to depart back and reach Kigali in the evening. Akagera National Park has a diversity of wildlife including buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas and many others. After a long time being extinct, the black rhinos and lions have recently been restocked though their sighting is always not guaranteed due to their small number and the hiding character of the black rhino. Enjoy the game drive viewing the natural habitat of different animals, birds and enjoying the view of different lakes and landscape.

Depart from Kigali as early as 05h00 - 06h00 and drive for an estimated three hours and a half to reach Akagera National Park in three hours and a half, then spend the entire day through the park to depart to Kigali in the evening.

Indicative itinerary

05h00 - 06h00: Pick-up, leave Kigali with a Countryside Tours-Rwanda driver-guide to drive 3.5 hours approx.

Mid-way: Stop-over by Imigongo Art Coffee Shop for leg stretching, using the washrooms, and exploring the different art objects in their exhibition hall.

On the way, pick Akagera Transit Lodge picnic lunch

Towards 08h30 - 09h30: Akagera National Park reception for permits, register, pick picnic lunch.

Enjoy the Scenic Ihema boat ride

Then, spend the whole day in Akagera National Park 

Arrive back in Kigali in the evening, approx. between 19h00 and 20h30.
