Within three-days, explore Akagera National Park, the only savannah park in Rwanda. With our local and friendly tour guide, the transport is assured with a comfortable 4X4 with WIFI onboard to keep you connected with your loved ones and the world. Apart from the memorable day game drive, you will also enjoy a night game drive and a boat ride in Ihema Lake, the largest lake in the park and the second largest in Rwanda, in the search of crocs ad hippos in addition to the morning wildlife drive, searching for hyenas on the last day.

Overview
​
Depart from Kigali by 08h40 and drive for an estimated three hours and a half to reach Akagera National Park. Spend the three days enjoying different activities in the park.

Indicative itinerary
​
Day 1: Kigali to Akagera, Afternoon boat ride in Ihema lake, Night game drive
Leave Kigali by 08h40. From Kigali, mid-way: Stop-over by Imigongo Art Center and cafe for leg stretching, viewing Imigongo arts, using the washrooms. You may also opt to buy a cup of coffee or anything else there. Reaching Akagera by 11h30, proceed with registration formalities and head to Akagera Game Lodge for lunch. After lunch, drive through the park to Ihema lake, the largest lake in the park and the second largest in Rwanda. Enjoy the boat ride and explore crocs and hippos. After the boat ride, we will head to Akagera Game Lodge for check in and getting ready for the 17h30 departure for an evening/night game drive in search for nocturnal animals. Have dinner by 21h00, order the next day picnic lunch and stay over for tomorrow full-day game drive.

Day 2: Full-Day Akagera National Park Game Drive
Have your breakfast and check out to be be ready at 07h30 for pick-up by a Countryside Tours-Rwanda driver-guide, ready for a full-day game drive. Pick the picnic lunch and spend the whole day as you will explore the majestic Akagera National Park, home to a variety of savannah animals and wildlife. Akagera National Park has a diversity of wildlife including buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas and many others. After a long time being extinct in Akagera National Park, the black rhinos and lions have recently been restocked. Their sighting is always not guaranteed due to their small number and the hiding character of the black rhino. Enjoy the game drive viewing the natural habitat of different animals, birds and enjoying the view of different lakes and landscape.
Day 3: Full-Day Akagera National Park Game Drive
Lastly, having lodged at Karenge Bush Camp, which is located in the North of the park, the third day activities include the morning wildlife drive around Kilala plain with the chance of spotting hyenas.
Continue game-driving in the northern part of the park before heading back to Kigali in the afternoon. You will be dropped to your hotel, airport or any other preferred place in Kigali city.
Arrive back in Kigali towards the evening, any time between estimated 17h30-19h00.
