With Kigali City Sightseeing, Countryside Tours-Rwanda helps you discover different parts of Kigali city with a professional and friendly local tour guide.

Afternoon & Last Sat of Month: Start: 13h00, No meals. For LAST SATURDAY of a month (on UMUGANDA) Uzuri K&Y workshop is closed but the rest goes on.

For convenience, a pick-up in Kigali city is provided, including from and to the airport. The City sightseeing includes Gahanga local market, Uzuri K&Y workshop for made in Rwanda sandals, Akagera; the river separating Kigali from the Eastern province and which will pass through Akagera National Park separating Rwanda and Tanzania. This river continues its way into Victoria lake and further to form Nile river. The city tour passes via Rebero, with the view overlooking the central part of Kigali city and the Kigali Convention Centre in the horizon and goes on to Kigali Heights-one of the modern shopping and entertainment centres, Kigali car-free zone, to Kigali Genocide Memorial and finally, Ubumwe Grande Hotel rooftop bar for a refreshing afternoon coffee or a local drink of choice.

Itinerary

  • Pick-ups (Kigali International Airport included)

  • Briefing, departure and head to Gahanga local market

  • Uzuri K&Y workshop for sandals (Not currently available due to Covid-19 restrictions)

  • Akagera river which separates Kigali city from the Eastern province

  • Rebero, with the view of the central Kigali city and Kigali Conventional Centre in the horizon

  • Kigali Heights, one of the modern Kigali city shopping and entertainment centre and the visit of Uzuri K&Y showroom

  • Lunch, walking through Kigali car-free zone and drive to Kigali Genocide Memorial

  • Kigali Genocide Memorial

  • Ubumwe Grande Hotel rooftop bar for a refreshing afternoon coffee, tea or a local drink of choice

  • De-briefing, end of Kigali City Sightseeing and drop-off

IMPORTANT

  • To prevent Covid-19 transmission, Uzuri K&Y workshop for sandals IS NOT VISITED until further notice

  • Recommended gear: Shoes-Sneakers or any other comfortable shoes, a sun hat and sunglasses just in case the weather requires

  • Kigali car-free day: Every first and last sunday of a month, 07h00-10h00. The tour goes on but we avoid the blocked roads.

  • Uzuri K&Y sandal workshop: Not open on sundays, public holidays and last saturdays of a month.
